Applications are now open for the Building Safer Communities Grant, a collaborative effort between the City of Hamilton and Public Safety Canada. This initiative offers multi-year funding for community-led projects dedicated to preventing and addressing youth gun and gang violence.
Informed by community input and research, the grant focuses on two key areas:
Preventative Programs to strengthen youth connections, capacity, and awareness
Comprehensive Support Services for youth leaving gangs
Applicants can apply to one or both streams, with a focus on supporting target populations and underserved populations, including Indigenous, Black, Female, and Newcomer Youth.
