Please join us for a special Collaborative Conversation, co-presented by the McMaster Collaborative for Health and Aging, the EMBOLDEN Study and the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA).

Researchers, trainees, clinicians, social service providers, older adults and caregivers, community members and members of the aging research community.

Dr. Maggie MacNeil, Postdoctoral Fellow, EMBOLDEN Study and McMaster School of Nursing, and Aref Alshaikhahmed, research partner and member of EMBOLDEN Strategic Guiding Council, will discuss evaluating the impact of engaging older adults and service providers as research partners in the co-design of a community mobility-promoting program: a mixed methods developmental evaluation study, presenting results from their paper published in Research Involvement and Engagement.

In-person Trainee Workshop

Trainees are invited to stay after the Collaborative Conversation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. for an in-person workshop on writing, publishing and stakeholder engagement in research.

It’s not just the destination that matters: Documenting and publishing your research “journey”

In this workshop, moderated by MIRA Research Manager, Audrey Patocs, speakers, Maggie MacNeil and Aref Alshaikhahmed will discuss the process of writing and publishing this type of paper, and their own journeys in research partnership.
