The "Placemaking for Inclusion Project," a collaboration between the Rural Development Network and La Société Des Manoirs Saint-Joachim (LSM), aimed to combat the stigmatization of affordable housing and empower tenants. Funded by the Community Housing Transformation Centre and the Government of Canada's New Horizons For Seniors Program, the project culminated in tenant-led community events at LSM, including a mural-painting initiative in June and its unveiling in October 2023. These efforts successfully fostered social inclusion and a sense of belonging among senior tenants, showcasing the positive impact of tenant-based decision-making.
