Long-Term Care homes during the pandemic: Lessons learned and re-thinking the future

In this webinar, presenters Prof. Chantal Trudel (Associate Professor, Carleton University) and Soo Wong (Ontario Liberal Candidate and Health Care Systems Expert) share about a Community-Based research approach to long-term care architectural design during the pandemic. Findings from a community-based research study which explored the physical design and environment of nine Ontario Long Term Care homes during the COVID-19 pandemic were discussed. Presenters shared architectural design studies the team has been developing to respond to findings as well as best practice principles from human factors, ergonomics and accessible design. The presentation concluded with the importance of design in Long Term Care from the perspective of education, policy, and leadership.
