Georgian is the first – and only – college in Canada designated as a changemaker college by Ashoka Canada for leadership in social innovation and changemaking in higher education. Georgian is home to 13,000 full-time students, including 3,600 international students from 85 countries. Through our Research and Innovation department, Georgian promotes innovation and economic growth – collaborating with industry to meet a wide range of evolving research, development and talent recruitment needs.
Entrepreneurial outcomes are embedded in all 130+ programs, with support for students and community members offered through the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre and the Centre for Changemaking and Social Innovation. The college operates three employment service locations in Barrie, Orillia and Orangeville. Additionally, the college partners on a number of initiatives with the Anishnaabe Education and Training Circle that focus on infusing Indigenous ideas and values across the college.
