About the Event

Cultural safety is an important consideration in every aspect of our lives. As an Elder and as Indigenous researchers this is something we consider carefully. In this session we invite those attending to join us in beginning to unpack what it means to be culturally aware in the design and implementation of community-based research. Opening with ceremony and a teaching to reflect on what cultural safety asks of us, we will share our experiences of success and critique in addressing cultural safety in community-based research.
